Building by building, Fieldston Power is modernizing the power grid of New York City to build a more resilient and sustainable future. We target older residential buildings, the outer boroughs and communities that have been largely left behind in the renewable energy transformation sweeping across the country.
The problem
Curbing emissions and energy costs
Thomas Edison built the first power plant in New York City back in 1884. Today, our aging infrastructure needs modernizing and resiliency from increased demand. Energy costs have skyrocketed while our city's beautiful but aging buildings are the largest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions and in turn pollution-related illnesses.

Fieldston Power creates virtual power plants, generating clean energy atop our city's existing vast network of buildings and underutilized lots. Our investments make buildings more efficient and provide owners and neighbors access to the economic and health benefits of renewable energy.
